If you are using a domain account as your service account for running ProVide, please make sure it has full access to the certificates installed on your server.
Note: You can also choose a certificate from the Windows machine store, in this case you do not need to import the certificate to ProVide as it can be used from where it is.
Instructions #
- 1. In ProVide Administration go to “Certificates”
- 2. In certificates click on “Import”.
Certificate and key file:
In the first window select the certificate (for example secure.company.com.cer) and click “open”. In the second window select the key file (for example secure.company.com.key) and click “open”.
Certificate with key file included:
In the first window select the certificate (for example secure.company.com.pfx) and click “open”. In the second window enter the password for the private key and click “ok”.
The server log should say: Certificate successfully loaded: “secure.company.com”.
Set the certificate to default by selecting the certificate in the list and click on “Set as default”. - 3. In certificates click “close” to save.
Certificate chains #
ProVide Server has excellent support for certificate chains; simply place all intermediate files directly within the “certificates” folder and ProVide will detect and use them when appropriate to load a complete chain. If a chain is not fully loaded please look in the log to see which certificate is missing.
