TFTP – Trivial File Transfer Protocol is used for low-level firmware updates, network booting and more recently for managing a new wave of IoT devices. With ProVide you can create groups of different areas to manage which files are distributed to certain devices and where they end up in your file system.
TFTP is a very basic file transfer protocol based on UDP that generally includes no login or access control mechanisms. It is often used for low-level firmware updates, network booting and alike because of its simple design and low performance footprint.
Apart from the all the functionality associated with TFTP; ProVide takes TFTP to another level by allowing multiple TFTP accounts being separated by source IP and netmask. By distinguishing the source ProVide lets you effectively create different account setups with different files and destination locations for uploads. For exampe using ProVide you can create groups of different areas to manage which files are distributed to certain devices and where they end up in your file system.
TFTP can be enabled in all versions of ProVide and supports both group and user management albeit based on source.
